Warranty Policy
All of our watches include a 2-year international warranty against manufacturing defects in workmanship and materials. If a watch you buy from us develops a fault through proper use within the warranty period, we will repair or replace it for you after conducting a thorough examination of the watch. Should you discover an issue, please contact us first.
We build our watches as strong as possible, but please take care not to drop them!
The warranty does not cover misuse (using the watch for anything other than its intended purpose), nor cover cosmetic issues such as scratches or marks on the finish or any forms of wear and tear accumulated through use.
Should you take the plunge and attempt to modify your Second Hour watch your warranty will be considered voided. Modifying excludes strap changes - swapping the standard issue strap / bracelet for another of your choosing. However, warranty claims cannot be made for damage caused during strap changes.
Watch Bracelet Re-sizing
While we understand you may wish to re-size your bracelet in the comfort of your own home using your own tools, we strongly recommend seeking professional assistance from a watch repairer, jewellers, or service centre in your local area to avoid accidental damage caused during strap changes and bracelet resizing.
Warranty claims do not apply if you got what you asked for but simply changed your mind, found it cheaper somewhere else, decided you did not like the purchase or had no use for it.
Warranty claims must be managed directly through Second Hour Watches. Whatever the issue is, we need to know about it first. Before doing anything else, contact us directly at support@secondhour.com.au, quote your serial number, outline the problem you are experiencing and under what circumstances the problem arose. Once agreement has been reached we will provide you with a shipping address. Watches must be returned to us here for inspection, repair or replacement. We will do our absolute best to make your warranty claim experience as fast, friendly and efficient as possible. We use DHL for all shipping.
Refunds
We do not perform refunds for change of mind. Refunds are performed solely at our discretion and where a refund is to be considered the watch must be returned to us in original condition: this is the same condition in which it left our workshop.
Postage Reimbursement
Where an inspection against a warranty claim reveals we are at fault we will reimburse you any reasonable postage costs you incurred to return the watch to us. Postage reimbursement will not occur in the event the claim is not related to a fault with workmanship or materials.
Repairing and Replacement
In the event our workmanship and materials are not at fault we will provide you with the option to repair and a quote for the work. You may choose to have the watch repaired through us or, at your expense, we will return the watch to you and you can seek to have the watch repaired through the service centre of your choice at your expense. Watches which are the subject of warranty claims will be considered out of warranty unless the repair is conducted by our service partner.
Warranty Exclusions
Warranty cover excludes but is not limited to:
Cosmetic damage - such as scratches or blemishes on the finish
Normal wear and tear
Damage resulting from improper handling or accident (dents, cracked or broken crystals, threaded or bent screw pins or crowns, broken movements etc)
Water damage resulting from:
a crown not being properly screwed in during exposure to water
unscrewing the crown under water,
exceeding the watch’s stated water resistance rating
exposure to strong magnetic fields or
exposure to extremes of heat or cold
When unauthorised customisation and works have taken place
Sending the watch for repair to an unauthorised repairer prior to making a warranty claim with Second Hour Watches
Please retain your warranty card as proof of purchase and ownership. The serial number contains everything we need to know about you and your watch and is critical to your claim.
